Healing Balms & Ointments

Learn the skills to be able to craft a simple skin care oil, lip balm and gentle healing ointment. We will explore the different properties of flowers and leaves growing on the farm whilst we harvest and combine them with plant oils and beeswax to make a variety of products.

About the event
Medical Herbalists Olivia Cliff and Jude Greenan, who each have over 20 years of experience and knowledge of working alongside medicinal plants, will be co-hosting this session.
On arrival, you will be welcomed into the comfortable kitchen at Vallis Farm, where there will be tea and refreshments. After settling in and introductions, we will take a short walk around the beautiful grounds of Vallis Farm to identify some of the many medicinal plants being grown. We will be harvesting from the newly established Physic Garden.
There will then be a short comfort break, with time to refill your mug, after which we will begin to process our harvest...
We will be focusing on individual herbs, and how they interact with people, as well as exploring different choices of plant oils and waxes.
